LHB Linux Digest #24.18: Ansible Modules, SSD Health, Server Monitoring Hub and More

A new video player will improve your learning experience.

In the last newsletter, I told you about the Kubernetes Operators course in the works. It's almost done, but some editing and final touches remain due to the festive seasons here. You'll definitely see it before Halloween 🎃

If you have been following Linux Handbook, you probably remember that we used to share a lot of self-hosting stuff. It's time to do it again. You'll be seeing more self-hosting tools and tutorials. After all, when we host so many services on our own, why not share that experience with you?

Another "new" stuff is that we are transitioning our videos from Vimeo to Muse (referal link). Muse player has a sleek UI, and I find the embedded video viewing experience slightly better than Vimeo and a lot better than YouTube.

The AI feature in the Muse player allows you to search for a spoken term, and then it highlights where that term was used in the video. This makes following a long video a lot easier as you can quickly revisit a concept.

Awesome! Isn't it? You can see the Muse player in action on the Linux Command Line Intro course.

That is surely going to improve the video experience on Linux Handbook. Speaking of improving experience, upgrade your membership and enjoy an ad-free learning experience with us 😎

Here are the other highlights of this edition of LHB Linux Digest:

  • Free vs Available memory
  • Updating Docker container without downtime
  • Self hosted image sharing
  • And more tools, tips and memes for you
